Edric Hong

Clinical Pilates Instructor

Bachelor of Human Movement Studies, University of Technology Sydney
Bachelor of International Studies, University of Technology Sydney
Diploma-level Studio Pilates, Aust Pilates Method Assoc

Edric began his mindful movement training when he discovered Tai Chi back in the 90s. Several years of instructing and competitive-level martial arts resulted in a hip flexor injury. Thus began his journey to reclaim his freedom of movement, eventually discovering Pilates in the first few studios in Sydney in 1998. The rest, as they say, is history.

Upon attaining his Human Movement degree and Pilates accreditation in 2006, Edric commenced as an instructor, ran his own studio for a few years, dedicated to helping clients from all walks of life regain their body awareness.

In that time, Edric also accidentally became an actor and found himself touring nationally with an award-winning children’s theatre show (Peasant Prince: Story Of Mao’s Last Dancer, Monkey Baa Theatre Co). Pilates was instrumental in enabling him to maintain a primed mind and body to handle the rigours of a touring show.

These days, his physical preparation for stage and screen performances relies primarily on Pilates (New Gold Mountain, SBS/Goalpost Productions).

Edric is thrilled to be working with our physiotherapists and allied health team at Movement Laboratory Leichhardt. He is looking forward to assisting you to enhance that feeling of being ‘at home’ with your body.

This place was amazing I was so happy about how I was treated and looked after . I liked how everything was explained to me and it made sense . I was grateful when I told my symptoms to the lovely lady she knew what I was talking about and ways we could improve things and that I wasn’t alone. Also I felt that the environment was pleasant calm and relaxing which is what I needed. I have already taken a few work cards to pass out to some ladies I know . Thank you ???? Looking forward to moving forward

Anastasia is a miracle worker! I'm a keen runner and I started seeing her a few months ago after a couple of broken backs and a (new) torn hammy. She diagnosed my hammy problem quickly and efficiently, provided immediate relief through some deep massage to allow me to survive a few more important runs before my wedding (honeymoon = rest), and has helped me rebuild through focused strength work and home exercises. She obviously cares about her patients and enjoys helping them achieve their goals. I'm now running regularly and pain free again! Thanks Anastasia 🙂
