Movement Laboratory is rapidly growing, we are constantly looking for new talents to join our team in Leichhardt.   We are Physiotherapists with Clinical Pilates experience and we offer both part time and full time contracts for the right candidate.  Physiotherapists with an interest in women's health, sports and dance are given first preference.  New graduates with the right Pilates experience are welcomed to apply.  We are building a personal and expert team for our very friendly and professional clinic, and are looking for someone who are committed to growing with us.  

The role is evenly split between treating and teaching unless otherwise specified.   Physiotherapy includes treating mostly musculoskeletal and sports conditions with manual therapy and hands on work.  Pilates work involves taking initials, privates and group sessions (up to 3 patients per hour).

The role needs a lot of flexibility to work along side the patient from initial injury to exercise based functional work, and intertwine these in sessions as required to get the best outcome.   The ideal candidate would have full studio Pilates Certification and interested in ongoing professional development to up skill.

About the Role
The role of Physiotherapy and Health Promotion Officer at Movement Laboratory Physio is highly specialised, and therefore requires a candidate with a unique set of skills. The ideal candidate will have a good balance of:

  • In-depth knowledge of the dance world, dance research & dance practice, with a particular relation to ballet and various classical syllabi

  • Excellent practical knowledge of the human body, exercise rehabilitation techniques & posture. Good anatomical language, including spelling, is essential

  • Appropriate office and administrative experience, with the practical ability to use programs such as the Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Photoshop, Woo-Commerce and WordPress.

  • Confidence and a strong ability to present and pitch themselves and the company, with the aim of creating long-lasting relationships between Movement Laboratory and a range of dance studios, teachers & health professionals

  • Marketing experience, with excellent copywriting and editing ability to create informative and educational campaigns based on health, wellbeing and safe practice for dancers.

General Responsibilities

  • Promoting healthy life styles and safe dance through the education of our patients and their families, individuals and community groups such as such as dance schools, dance teachers
    and recreational dance centres

  • Designing and developing informative and educational campaigns to assist in the promotion of wellbeing for dancers using newsletters, leaflets, posters, handouts, blog posts and other
    digital media

  • Promoting Movement Laboratory's ethos of holistic physiotherapy treatment that focuses on long term exercise-based rehabilitation and not just temporary “quick-fixes”

  • Planning and coordinating health promotion programs for dancers, in particular student workshops and dance teacher training workshops both nationally and internationally

  • Monitoring and evaluating resources devoted to health & welfare, particularly in relation to dancers

  • Liaising with other physiotherapy clinics, dance schools and dance examining bodies to discuss areas of health and welfare service cooperation and coordination

  • Develop ongoing advertising campaigns for workshops aimed at promoting safe dance practice, health and wellbeing for dancers

  • Research on the latest news and updates in health and welfare in relation to dance and safe dance practice

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year
