FAQs for New Patient
Why are first appointments longer?
First appointments take 45 minutes to give our registered physiotherapist time to pinpoint your pain, give a preliminary diagnosis and provide hands-on treatment. They’ll also outline a treatment plan. You’ll see the best results when you keep to this schedule, so we ask you to book these after your first appointment.
What if I need scans?
We can give you a script for scans such as MRI, ultrasound, CT, x-ray and bone scans. We’re lucky to be surrounded by several great imaging centres and they will send us your results afterwards.
Do you treat non-athletes?
Absolutely! We provide dance physio and sports physio, but we are a general clinic – we welcome everyone and bring our elite experience to your injury, too.
Do I need a GP referral?
Do you accept my health fund?
We accept all major health funds. You can claim on the spot through HICAPS.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We want to keep your recovery on target, so we ask that you try to keep all your appointments. However, we understand sometimes this isn’t possible. Appointments may be changed with 12 BUSINESS hours’ notice by phone or email. Changes or cancellations with less than 12 business hours’ notice will be charged at 50% of the full fee. If you give less than two hours’ notice, or don’t show, you will be charged the full consultation fee. This applies for both physiotherapy and pilates appointments, and pilates classes.
Our business hours are 7am-8pm.
Do I need a GP or a physio?
Both doctors and physios are ‘first-call’ health professionals who can diagnose your injury and refer for scans. GPs often refer to physios because we’re trained to take a proactive approach to treating pain from your very first visit. We work closely with GPs to ensure you get the tests you need, and check there are no other health problems that may affect your recovery.
